Delta Squad

Well I started posting pics on my odds and ends thread so some of you guys will already have seen this. As its gonna be an ongoing biggie I thought I would give it its own thread.

Inspired by Bobamike and my love of the game I thought I would have a go at it with the help of Cbob.

So We got a a GG Bust of Boss. The idea was I was gonna hack it up, dremel it out and cast from it, but I just could not bring myself to chop it up. Dohh.

So here we go..........

Lots still to do but hey thats what we love right!

sooo cool man. looking forward to seeing how these turn out. love the design of the RC armor. looking great dorgs!
 
Cheers guys, it is really tough to do the armour. I am struggling with the upper arms and the chest is gonna be insane!!!!!
 
Dorgs the chest is practically identical to the normal clones except for the V bit in the middle and the ribbing round the neck, so would it be easier to sculpty 1 on a normal chest you've cast?

not quite identical, the position of the pecs is a little different, and it's a little wider than the normal clone armor...


anyway Dorgs, quick thing I want to warn you about.

The shoulder pad on the figure's right is only for Boss.

The one on the figure's left is the standard one. So it looks to me that the left one is symetrical enough that you could use it for both sides.

This is Boss:

now notice how the regular commando doesn't have one like it"

see how the two shoulder plates are the same?

So you might wanna cast extras of the plain shoulder plate... or else you may run into trouble making any commandos other than Boss... :D
 
awesome- cant believe how nice these look- if you do sell these- i really want a set!!!-
its a shame that sideshow cant be bothered!! they are missing out!!
 
Hummm interesting to see how many folks would be interested in em!
Now I am not making promises but I will try to make a few extra sets if I can afford it.

The hard parts are coming up so stay tuned. I have deliberately made loads of em so that I really persevere with it.

Thanks Dude for the heads up on the shoulder armour. I knew that Delta Squad all have different pads but I did not know that the standard trooper had two the same.

your welcome Dorgs! I'm somewhat of a commando expert, played the game through, also mod the game a lot, now I've read 2 of the Karen Traviss books... if you need to know anything about them, I'm your man! I can get some nice piccies of all the armor parts, or even the accessories like shoulder pads and stuff by themselves...

Your such a good guy Dorgs so im gonna say something on behalf of you if thats ok :monkey3


Dorgs is too kind so if he makes you something be kind and repay him please. I know many of you do anyway. I tend to send him bits and pieces mainly figures that i know he likes to collect. So do the same if you possibly can. Resin/casting kits cost about £50 or $75. Im not sure how much he can make out of a kit though, but even if you went halfs with somebody maybe :peace

Doh Cbob, I really appreciate it.

Here a few more images.

Now, the feet. I think the thing about the commandos is everything appears to be a little more bulky. So the feet... The regular clone feet are great, but I want mine to be a bit bigger. The same goes for the shins. So I am trying the hasbro ones. If I like em I will make moulds and cast em up.

The knee pads as we can see from DudePs pics are a different shape so it may be sculpty time.
