Sorry, that's not 100% Tim Drake Robin suit (but definitely not Damian's). Though it's closest to Tim's suit, Tim Drake Robin wears TABI BOOTS. This PF doesn't and I wish Sideshow didn't change that as it's one of the smaller details from Neal Adams' design that I really love :)
Anyway, Happy...
Re: Sideshow Batman 1/1 bust
I'm a big fan of Miller's Old Man Batman and I think this new 1:1 bust is somehow inspired by it but IMO some stylized art/sculpt don't look that good in 1:1 3D form, and this bust is too stylized for my liking. Happy with the original Black+Grey release.
Kidding aside, this is really cheap for a licensed 1:1 figure, but if I were to get a life-sized Harley I wouldn't prefer a Timm animated version. But maybe it's one of the reasons this is cheaper, apart from this being a sculpt that's repurposed too several times in various scales.
Too bad there's a limit of 2 units/account. Knowing you you would have ordered at least 4 of these. 1 to display, 1 to customize, 1 to keep mint in crate, and 1 to give away to a lucky random forum member :wink1:
The pose surely makes him small, but I saw this photo of the Bermejo statue, and we can see that the Miller Batman statue still appears thicker.
Again I wonder how this figure would compare to Kotobukiya's Hunt the Dark Knight statue, though. That one looks huge despite the pose, next to my...
Yeah, I have the Adam Kubert 12" Batman from this line and the paint's really clean. Had the Capullo Metals Batman too, and the blood and dirt spatter on it is also well-done. I've seen the Mignola Batman, Jim Lee Superman, Neal Adams Superman, and Cho Wonder Woman and they all have very good...
A personal grail! This is perfect. Most accurate sculpt to Frank Miller's art from TDKR amongst all the TDKR figures I've seen so far. 1/6 scale, $150. This will definitely be on my shelf :) Great bonus if it scales well next to Kotobukiya's 1/6 TDKR Hunt The Dark Knight Batman vs Joker statue...
Really love the sculpt on this statue. Mass production paint could have been better, but it seems that it's still a good figure over-all. A photogenic one, too.
Kotobukiya's is straight-up 3D version of another Mignola Gaslight Batman artwork, while Prime 1's is mixed (the base on f Prime 1's is more inspired by the cover, looking at those grills on the base).
I love this. I prefer the heat vision headsculpt on Jon.
I read somewhere that this was supposed to be a custom, unlicensed statue and Prime 1 bought it for a licensed release. Not sure if it's an accurate info, but it's a very nice sculpt either way :)
Yeah, I think it's safe to label this as 1/6. I think it looks good as well. Saw one at an LCS, was too tempted, but I found it too pricey @ $175 (SRP I think is $149 but lucky are fans in the US for I saw US-based shops online offering it for about $130).
I wish they'd make a 1/6 version of this soon, like what they did to Mignola's. This statue based on the iconic Silvestri pin-up a grail for me (I know there had been a few customs but for Batman I'd like my collectibles licensed), and a 1/6 version under their 12" designer series would be the...
If a Hawkman statue can make you focus your eyes on it without relying on overwhelming wingspan and despite being surrounded by the World's Finest, then it's a damn good Hawkman statue.
Terrific sculpting. Small details like how the bellybutton lies on the ripped abdominals, make it look...
I love it. I think the EX portrait has better sculpt.
I'm getting a Gal Gadot vibe on the EX, particularly on the lips. I think it looks more like Gal Gadot than their WW BvS PF :lol
