Hey, I just got finished making a fun custom, a female a$$kicker I named MAJOR BABE :lol , (See my customs thread to see more of her...)

MB001.jpg

and after a phone conversation with DarkArtist Josh, I thought I might have some fun and issue a challenge to you other Customs makers here....

CAN YOU MAKE A BADA$$ Female figure custom, in one month?
Using parts you have, heads you can get, or alter, and parts, ANY CATEGORY, ERA, SETTING...NO LIMITS????
Can you?

Are you up for a cool custom challenge?

I need to make a villain for my Major Babe figure anyway, and Josh wants to try his hand at custom making a female character, so we thought, offer up a challenge of sorts, no winners, just a fun gathering of customs experimentation, and come up with some fun entries by June 30th.
It's really only a matter of cobbling up parts anyway, and some of you have WAY more than you need for a figure like this.
THere is no competition in it, no winners or losers, only the fun of making some cool customs and showing them here for all to see.

Give it some thought, and post ideas or suggestions here.

Only thing is, keep your figure a total secret until reveal day. You can team up with another artist to make your's just try to keep it off the boards until the 30th.
Then, when everyone gets a look at the entries, maybe we can come up with some followup to it all. And, make this kind of thing a regular occurance, with different themes and whatnot. Make our figure customs vary.
But, the goal should be to have fun and share. We can even spill the beans about how we made them, and show works in progress if possible.
By the way, on another website, this is how I came up with my 1939 style Batman, and Mr. Freeze and others. All due to the fun of a communal free figure challenge.

Again, think about it, those of you with a creative bent, and let us know your thoughts. And don't be intimidated by other's, or what they may do, just join in the fun and create something we can all share in.

As for me, I know I am making one. So is Josh.

Are you? :D

Unless, someone wants to offer one...but I was not suggesting a contest. It's a custom challenge. No winners. Or, every one wins, as we get to see cool figures!
I didn't get a prize for my Mr. Freeze! But making him was one of the most rewarding custom periods of my career!
Try it Dave! And others with an idea of a cool figure.
Plus, you end up with a cool custom to hang on to.

Rock on! This is going to be a blast Les! Let's see what kind of cool, strange stuff we can come up with.

And Dave, trust me.... this is going to be great. I saw a bit of it at another site and the different types of figures and styles were amazing. And it was not only fun but a learning experience for custom artists. It pushes you to think outside the box, and I like that.

I'm going to cobble one together myself and I am already planning it as we speak. :rock

Just remember, any scale, any type of figure.... all are welcome. Only limits are our own.

Les, this is really a great idea and sounds like a helluva lot of fun! After joining this board a couple of months ago I've been newly inspired by all the talented people here to get back into working on my own creations again. The only thing I don't have enough of these days is time to work on them, dangit. But who knows, maybe I'll be able to slap something together by the end of June and hopefully surprise you guys! :D

Man, I don't have any more female bodies laying around.:monkey2

Look to the Bay bro! Or, someone here might have a few to sell at cheap prices.
Any will do. Bucks are not perfect, but would work with clothed characters. HT are really good. Might try to get a cool 21st Century villain babe Matilda or something. If only Louis had his Triad females ready! I'd invest on some of those!
Look around. Keep us updated. Maybe someone can help you and others out.

ONE MONTH TO GO!

Find, cobble, create! There is always SOME character you can make! Anything! Use spare fodder stuff. A gangster girl, a Road Warrior, Star Wars type bounty hunters or enslaved princesses, military, spy, hell just outright sexy ones. Something. Western. Anything. NO LIMITS!
Oh, and accessories allowed! Guns, knives, sharp sticks....
Just try to make her be wicked cool as you can.

No attempts unheralded! All entries will be commented on and lauded over at great length!
No losers in this challenge. Give it a shot. What have you got to lose!
Besides, you might end up with a needed figure for your collection when you are done.

What will we see on June 30th!?!?!?!?
I for one can't wait!

Oh, and entries can only be posted on June 30th ONLY! No early or late posted pics! That's the only time posting condition. (accounting for international times of course...)

Oh, and try not to be pornographic. I think the masters at arms would appreciate that.

I've got a Hasbro Boushh Leia body that I found.....is a she-male figure accepted? :rotfl

:lol She males?
Um....well... I hope not....
But, any female is ok.

Oh, and Anzik, I would think, an original, or an existing, anyone. I am making an original, but that doesn't limit what anyone else can do.

Look to what Josh (Dark Artist) did of himself, as a Colonial Marine. Or any other original custom. The only theme is really just a female character. It would be great to see a really tricked out Lara Croft, or some other like character. I want to make a LC myself. Might be why I made my Major Babe. But, if I did a Lara, I would want a movie one, and good Angelina heads are hard to come by.

Just use your imagination. Take an existing figure, and make something new with it. That is the challenge. Just not a repainted, Hasbro Leia or something. Go for it. Make her all out new.
Hell, a Leia Colonial Marine would be new! Or, a Vasquez Jedi :lol That would rock actually. But, I don't see too many Vasquez figures usurped this day and age.

Just some ideas.

Oh I am gathering parts as we speak.... She's going to be badass.... and SCARY as Hell. I want a chick that if she kicked in your door, you'd poo yourself and cry for momma. :devil

It's going to be freakin awesome....:rock

I'm going in an odd direction. Not sure what she'll be, but I'm going light on the accessories and clothing and heavy on paintwork and personality. Should be interesting...

This is really exciting, Les!!

I'm combining a mythical character with some modern dress. This is gonna be so cool!!
