InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

Gandalf admittedly distracted me for the past couple of weeks, but I'm still just as excited to get this guy in-hand. I know it's gonna take a long while -- especially since I was one of Kit's last batches -- and that's fine. Patience is an unfortunate necessity in this hobby. I'm approaching...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Speaking of surgical procedures, I opened up my Gandalf's head to remove the eyes and try to get them re-aligned. Achieved only a minor improvement, though at least both eyes are responsive to the joystick now. (I was getting lazy eye before when I tried to turn his gaze to the side.) The use of...

I know wizards are never early... but Gandalf arrived a day ahead of schedule! 5 days total shipping from OSK. That's awesome. 😁 No futzing yet. I'm really happy with the hair, which already looks great without any treatment. The beard folded over onto itself inside the packaging, so it'll...

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - 1/6th scale Darth Maul™ Collectible Figure (25th anniversary)

I'm just glad I sold my DX16 when I did! Not going to pick this one up because I'm out of the PT game personally, but this is a nice upgrade.

I still need to find an Aragorn. 😭 Worst comes to worst, I had success with Kit's last chance Gandalf, so maybe fate will be on my side again...

Mine's in transit so TBD, but FWIW I got the shipping notification on the 28th and it's tentatively scheduled for the 4th, so that would be 6 days! I certainly hope it stays on target. It's been a long while since I've been this excited for an arrival.

Man, I wish I had space for the Bat-Signal. It's such a killer companion piece, and it looks so good with the correct temperature LED.

Hell, if it weren't for the sculpted eyebrow, I'm not sure I could tell this apart from a real close-up. The rooted strand in the foreground only heightens the illusion!

The razor burn is absolutely incredible. I never imagined we'd get that level of detail in a 1/6 sculpt.

I'm okay with whatever they do with Bruce as long as we keep getting more detective work. I loved finally seeing a cinematic Batman who felt like an investigator. It's why I think the flashlight is a nice touch for an accessory.

Oooh, I like that Shire base a lot. That could scratch the itch for me until -- hopefully -- the autumn/forest diorama becomes widely available. 🤞🏻 The Batman has SERS, so that's a good sign! Although, apparently the way they did it has issues, too -- namely that the joint where the head and...

Yeah, looks like a chip or blemish to my eye, too. Might be worth seeing if your distributor can help.

I think the "holding the cowl" thing, particularly for Batman, is very much rooted in the comic tradition. It's a classic panel or illustration choice, even if the visual language of film doesn't translate the same way. (It also helps that the mask is comic book magic which can hold a shape when...

    InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

Honestly, give me that same SS headsculpt with rollable eyes, and I'm thrilled. Permanent side-eye is so limiting for display...

I am unreasonably excited to use the flashlight, tbh. Also, look at that color difference in the first picture! InArt looks so nice because there's a contrast between the black and grey. HT looks too flat, which may be why it didn't wow me in-hand.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Well, all I'll say is that Legolas hasn't even been revealed, much less put up for preorder, much much less being a real, tangible thing in collectors' hands... So if the thought is that Gandalf is the odd one out, that's a problem literally years away. If you enjoy Gandalf, why deprive yourself...

    InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

Yeah... this is what I fear. Seems like another in the TW, Pop Collectibles mold where they try to secure stock after the order is placed, so you might get lucky or you might walk away empty-handed. Interested to hear what BK says about it!

    InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

Is Sanctum Toys legit? Seems like they've got a fair bit in stock that's sold out elsewhere -- Superman, Aragorn, etc. -- which always makes me nervous that it's a Toys Wonderland situation...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Huh, the sleeved hand look isn't consistent across the film? TIL. I'll have to watch closely when I revisit it and start posing. I may or may not already be fantasizing about how I want to display him...

IIRC, the preorder price was $515, so an $80 "why didn't you preorder" tax is much, much nicer than the eBay upcharge. This is why Kit has such loyal customers!
