    Megalopolis (May 17, 2024)

Harsh. The man has made three of the greatest films ever, helped the career of some pretty important directors, and built a successful winery in the process. Hardly someone I'd call delusional or dumbass, no matter how much or little I like his latest work.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Saw it a couple of days ago and loved it. These new Apens movies are sooooo much better than 90% of the other franchises.

    Megalopolis (May 17, 2024)

Everything I've read and seen makes me want to see this movie. Apocalypse Now was a complete nightmare of a production, and it's probably the best movie ever made.

    DUNE: Prophecy (HBO/Max Prequel Series)

The Bene Gesserit are a fascinating creation, and they are formidable at pulling the strings behind the curtains in the Herbert novels, so there's a lot to explore here... There's some good actors attached, so hopefully it'll be good.

1/6 Ujindou UD9035 US 2nd Armored Division Infantryman (Normandy 1944)

I think I had DML's version way back when... Always nice to see some of the more obscure uniforms.

    RIP Roger Corman

The man was a legend. Not many can have the impact on culture that he had.

    Shōgun ( FX 2024 Miniseries / James Clavell )

Finally got a chance to finish watching this, and man, what a fine series it is! It absolutely didn't disappoint. Just like its predecessor series was in the 80's, this is an instant classic! Not sure what they have in mind for a new season, but I'll keep an open mind.

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

Max got humiliated by Furiosa? When did that happen? Anyway, I don't think Fury Road would have worked with Mel Gibson back. It would've have needed completely different dynamics between the characters and that would have been a completely different movie. And I really like the movie we got.

Andy Serkis LORD OF THE RINGS: LET THERE BE CARNAGE 2026

All in all, sounds like a terrible idea.

Fury Road is absolutely brilliant. I wasn't very interested in this one, but I'm warming up to it...

    RIP Bernard Hill

Sad news indeed. He was a great actor.

    Megalopolis (May 17, 2024)

I'm quietly hopeful for this one. Coppola has made some of my all time favourite movies, and some not very good ones as well, so it'll be interesting to see what he made of this passion project of his.

    Alien: Romulus

There's something very odd going on with the head/cowl... And I know what is bothering me about the face: it reminds me off Hot Toys' awful "Godzilla" sculpt!

1/6 Ujindou UD9030 WWII Panzergrenadier-Division Großdeutschland (Eastern Front)

Looks a bit disappointing overall. Like DML circa 2002...

1/6 DID NS80175 U.S. Civil War Union Army Lieutenant – John Dunbar (Kevin Costner, Dances with Wolves)

Amazing looking figure! My only criticism would be the hat... looks terrible on the head sculpt.

Isn't the quote from 2010 though?

    Alien: Romulus

I was referring to the design of the alien itself. Just looking at the face, it seems to be missing the "bio-mechanical" aspect that made Giger's design so unique and unsettling. Of course, this is just the face, but it doesn't bode well for the rest of the creature. It seems people think a few...
