Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

they should have just digitally replaced harley with batman getting peed on and there would be no problem
no one would have a problem with this

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I just got back and this is easily top 3 worst superhero movies of the past 20 years. I'm not sure if it's worse than Fantastic Four but but as of right now I think it is.

I think DC has to reboot because I can't see them coming back from this, this is a franchise killer.

Leto's Joker was abysmal, every scene in the movie he was in made me cringe. I'm not even talking about his interpretation of Joker, only his performance and it was the 2nd worst in the movie only behind Killer Croc :lol

Killer Croc was so terrible in this movie I couldn't believe it, he was calling people "bruh" and all he wanted to do was watch BET. I can't even believe what I'm typing right now :lol

Yup, this takes my number 2 spot in worst superhero movies of the past 20 years. MOS, and BvS are masterpieces compared to this.

Right? That trailer was fantastic.

Yup, I don't think I'll like the show though, but the trailer was great. I'm not a fan of the guy that they got to play Luke Cage, he doesn't have much range at all as an actor. Hopefully I'm wrong because I love Daredevil on Netflix and I though Jessica Jones was okay.

So worse than XMA. :lol

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Saw this in 3D IMAX. Quick thoughts:

BEST. GUILTY PLEASURE. EVER.

Loved it! FINALLY something different! Yeah it had some tacked on MCU-style universe building moments but otherwise this film was pretty much The Dirty Dozen + Planet Terror + the original Ghostbusters. Now unfortunately the overall quality was probably more "Planet Terror" than those other two classics but it had such awesome and likable characters that it definitely blows PT away.

It would have been a little better if things got a little gorier and the comedy was a little bit darker but it was so damn much fun. Better than both Joss Whedon Avengers films. I'm more excited to see the further adventures of these characters than I am the Justice League.

Several characters that did nothing for me in the trailers (Joker, Deadshot, and Katana) I ended up really liking. Margot was just as entertaining as I thought she'd be and and what a burden for her to play full crazy for the length of the entire film. Out of everyone she felt the most like a 90's comic character come to life.

I liked what's her name as the Enchantress but as "June" she was pretty meh. Didn't really care for the Enchantress' brother so I'm glad that the Joker and Enchantress picked up his slack.

And Bohemian Rhapsody was NOT performed by a cover band thank God.

Apocalypse was horrible, but nowhere near this bad :lol

Have you seen the movie yet Jye?

Jesus Christ :lol

I'm no fan of either Joss Whedon Avenger films but they're classics compared to this. This movie was unbelievably bad, the 5 minute slow motion sequence at the end was one of the worst things I've ever seen in a big budget movie :lol

My jaw was on the ground every scene he was in. The scene where he jumps in to get Harley from that chemical stuff looked like a music video. Im not a big fan of the these characters so I have no problem with the liberties taken but I know you're a big Joker fan, how did this not make you cry?

pturtle's credibility as a movie reviewer just keeps getting reflushed down the toilet, each and every year. 2014. Flush. 2015. Flush. 2016 Flush flush flush. ;)

Saw SS earlier this evening and while it isn't academy award winning material it was a fun and entertaining movie for a Friday night. My friends and I enjoyed it very much. :yess:

Yep!

I have nothing against anyone that loves this movie, I'm just truly in shock. This was Catwoman, Fantastic Four, X-Men Origins level of horrible in my opinion.

Not being a comic book dude....is this Amanda Waller the same Dr Amanda Waller from the Green Lantern movie?

Crazy talk. I could see people being put off by this movie but it has redeeming qualities galore. Those treasured films from your blu-ray collection listed above don't. ;)

A lot of this movie reminded me of Kill Bill (and I don't just mean Katana.) The way they'd do really extended and stylized flashbacks for a lot of the characters. Yeah the quality was more Robert Rodriguez than top form Tarantino but still, very cool nonetheless.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Now I want the Affleck Batman Premium Format even more since he wears the same costume in both movies.

I do wish the movie had several scenes of special forces soldiers meeting horrifying ends and then cutaways to the Squad kind of chuckling at their demises, hopefully this one also gets an R-rated cut.

I was mentally prepared thanks to Difabio's early spoilers. There were no surprises...especially regarding Leto and his "beef" scene...as well as the rest of the film.

I enjoyed it as bad Will Smith film. It's not a real DC film in my mind.

I do actually own X-Men Origins on Bluray :lol

But once you buy Suicide Squad we'll be even.

There were definitely scenes that I enjoyed in this movie, but that doesn't takeaway the fact that those scenes were in a horrible edited, plot hole filled mess of a movie. In fact the good scenes in this movie almost makes it worse because they feel out of place in a horrible movie :lol

It's like the QS scene in X-Men Apocalypse, that was an amazing sequence that happened to be in a ****** film. It's almost scary to think that the same director who directed that also directed the 3rd act of that movie :lol
