I know that there was already a poll on this, but I think it's time for a new thread, since manufacturers like Samsung and HTC have made leaps and bounds in innovation compared to just a few years ago.
So, which phones do you guys prefer? The iPhones, or an Android based device?
I've used Android since its inception with the Google G1, and I've went through three more Android phones since then: the HTC Windows phone, myTouch 4G, and the LG G2x (aka. Optimus 2X). I initially went with the G1 back in 2008, since I was on T-Mobile and couldn't afford an iPhone back then. However, I spent the next five years wishing that I had an iPhone . While I can certainly appreciate the lack of restrictions from Android (eg. being downloading whatever I want without having to go though a third-party application like iTunes), the operating systems were just far too unstable and bug-ridden. It literally killed the enjoyment that I could have had from those phones. I can't count the number of times that I've had to manually pop open the back covers to reinsert the batteries, because my phones randomly decided to brick. In addition to slow-downs, freezes, crashes, random reboots, etc.
As it happens, I upgraded to an iPhone 5s several weeks ago, and so far, I've had no problems, whatsoever. IOS 7 performs buttery-smooth compared to what I've experienced from my older Android devices. Besides the simplicity of Apple devices, they simply work well - and I think that's what I appreciate the most.
The Samsung phones looks incredible, but they're far too big for my liking, since I wanted something that I could use in one hand, and that could easily fit in my pocket.
