Diddo for all! I've customized my Hot Toys and Marmit Sandtroopers (swapped out some pauldrons). Marmit definitely did a better job on the helmet sculpt. I've thought about, with great hesitation because of removing the armor, changing the bodies on my Marmit troopers, but probably not! ;)
Where did you get those pauldrons? Look great. The higher saturation of orange works much better than HT’s (on the marmit trooper).

So they had the perfect opportunity to give us a Bad Batch Cody, instead they opted for a "cheap" silver painted "Cody". What a bunch of cr*p. I guess it is just part of their standard exhibit procedures.........

(I am sure you meant to post on Cody thread) When it comes to limited exclusives, it is better for them to be a skippable repaint than a more vital character/look. If Bad Batch Imperial Cody was a limited exclusive that everyone had to jump in queue for then miss out folk would be angry. Silver chrome Cody is a PERFECT choice for the role. Save imperial Cody for mainline general release.

As for the stormtrooper re-release, I hope it signals more re-releases of basic troopers. ANH stormie, reg clone etc should always be available

Thing is, now they'll probably perceive the market as saturated with Cody figures hence we may never see the light of a BB Imperial Cody. I hope you are right, but this is not a rational company we're talking about.

Yes.

The pauldrons came off the Marmit Sandtroopers. The orange one is the original color, but I did slightly weather it. I believe Marmit modelled them from a still from the "Move Along" scene where the pauldron looks to be falling forward a little bit. They made them very un-symmetrical, but they do look great! And the pauldron on the custom Scout Sandtrooper came from the Medicom 12" Real Action Heroes Sandtrooper

Love the look of these boys. Think they'd look great with the environment flanking Vader. But they're way too much for me. Near £500 for what are essentially background pieces/ characters is crazy.

Wow. Just checked and that's double what I paid for the original 2 pack ANH set. Sure that's 9 years ago, but 100% price increase for the same quality product is scary. That said, I think I recall when this stand first came out there was controversy over the price hike that stand added.

If I go with custom buckets, how much would I have to cash out for each helmet?
I don't think I've seen anybody sell finished and painted buckets unfortunately.
For my unpainted casts, I think I paid around $30-50 per helmet. But it's the hours of dremeling, sanding, priming and painting that makes them so time consuming. That might be the reason why I haven't seen anybody offer finished versions.
