I know it’s weird to post a this dude retires thread but I always held out hope he would do another Master And Commander film (maybe his very best) with Rusty.

I randomly discovered this fact while watching a cute video of Ethan and Maya Hawke going through videos at the Criterion Collection.

A staggering career, Picnic At Hanging Rock, Gallipoli, Dead Poets Society, The Year Of Living Dangerously (a seriously underrated film), Harrison Ford’s two best performances in Witness and The Mosquito Coast, Fearless (a hugely underrated gem), The Truman Show. That’s a group of films to be insanely proud of.

He directed some greats. I think The Year of Living Dangerously is the greatest movie title of all time.
