It was so completely ridiculous in almost every respect I'm not sure which planet it was meant to take place on. A bit like the complete disregard of history in
Raiders of the Lost Ark's parallel world married to the complete disregard of physics in
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull's parallel world.
Far crazier than the Russian movie,
T-34, and also reminiscent of low budget Italian war films from the 1960s.
There's an element of Tarantino, but the inspiration was supposedly
First Blood, though Aatami is more of a Finnish John Wick crossed with Superman. In it's favour
Sisu wasn't as relentlessly boring as a
John Wick film.
It begins literally down to earth, but quickly turns into a surreal black comedy. The ending would be unbelievable, if it weren't for all the other other unbelievable events preceding it. It's a such a wild, silly ride that I think the real inspiration for
Sisu was Looney Tunes.
