Image Entertainment has extended through 2015 a license deal with Entertainment One, a Toronto-based distributor of theatrical, home entertainment, television and digital content.

Chatsworth, Calif. –based Image said the agreement includes for the first time titles from Madacy Home Entertainment, which Image acquired last year, in addition to its catalog of more than 3,200 discs.

New content acquisitions featured in the deal include theatrical release Burning Palms, the Criterion Collection’s upcoming Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless and Brazil. Other titles include The Twilight Zone, Boris Karloff TV series “Thriller,” “The Jeff Dunham Show” and a Kenny Chesney concert video, among others.

“We’re pleased to continue our arrangement with them,” Image CEO Ted Green said in a statement.

Reinhardt, looks like your wish will soon come true :D

Thanks Iron! So, is Image affiliated with Criterion? Brazil NEEDS to be released with the Criterion stamp.

No idea. Maybe they have the rights to Brazil and they have a deal with Criterion :dunno

And if they wait till AFTER the Hobbit, it will be 2013+ :(

Probably 2014.

how much more ultimate can it get with the extended versions? :dunno

PJ and the actors say there's a buttload of extra stuff not yet released and made for the ultimate set (i think) and i think PJ is overseeing the restoration of the movies, unlike these.

I watched the Bambi Blu-ray this weekend and used the Disney Second Screen app on my iPad. I thought it was a very cool way of seeing sketches, flip books and other things while the movie is playing on the TV. I hope they continue this feature on future releases.

Reason why I don't want to order it through Amazon is I'm hoping Best Buy, or Target, will have a goodie with it. Me loves me goodies! :D

Fox Pathé Europa has announced its release slate for June, and it's pretty loaded for a summer month, with a dozen titles from the MGM catalog getting a Blu-ray release – most of them still unannounced in the US. From Marilyn Monroe to Vietnam to drag queens in the outback, hustlers and gigolos, there's something for everyone.

The schedule is as follows:

June 1:
The Misfits (John Huston, 1961)
Some Like It Hot (Billy Wilder, 1959)

June 15:
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (Stephan Elliott, 1994)
Be Cool (F. Gary Gray, 2005)
Casino Royale (various directors, 1966)
A Fish Called Wanda (Charles Crichton, 1988)
Get Shorty (Barry Sonnenfeld, 1995)
The Horse Soldiers (John Ford, 1959)
The Hustler (Robert Rossen, 1961)
Midnight Cowboy (John Schlesinger, 1969)
Platoon (Oliver Stone, 1986)
The Thomas Crown Affair (Norman Jewison, 1968)
Tigerland (Joel Schumacher, 2000)
Not all movies may be available in other territories.

Note that MGM is rumored to be close to shifting its home entertainment distribution business from Fox to another studio, possibly Sony (see Blu-ray.com, February 9). If true, Fox might be releasing some premium MGM properties before its distribution deal expires.

The Misfits blows chunks. Sorry, one of Monroe's weaker performances, and a disjointed, uninteresting script. Wallach was good though, and it was a decent turn by Gable.

Some Like It Hot is perhaps my favorite Monroe flick, so I'm happy to see that one finally hitting.
