spot on.

take a look at the maquette's chest RT and u might understand. it has ZERO detail. now look at the ht version. u can clearly see the inner mechanisms and parts that make up the chest RT. AND it lights up.

anyway, i've said it before and i'll say it again. both the maquette and 1/6 have their respective pros and cons. i admire the maquette's imposing sense of physical presence...from a certain distance. up close, the 1/6 is more impressive. :peace

personally, i think the 1/6 armour has much more attention to detail and has way better paint apps. the maquette armour's paint app is just sloppy.

Well said.

Saw the HT Mark 1 at Sideshow and it looks aweosme as well!!!! great detail work plus the chest piece looks awesome with all the detail in it! wish the sideshow one had that detail int it as well!

There you have it. Straight from the subject matter expert. :lol ;)

But I am happy for those who have the maquette. It's big and imposing, and casual observers will be equally impressed by it I'm sure.

Just got the Mark 1 Maquette by SS today. Its awesome! But I see where the debate is stemming from. The likeness of RDJ is a lot better than the pics I have seen. The paint apps on the face are very good. Not too shabby on the piece itself. I can see Pitu's point about needing more mixed media but it does have some. Its an impressive statue with great detail. So if your wanting a large statue centerpiece its the way to go. Not disappointed with the purchase at all. The waitlist works, I got the ex #60. Like it a lot and boy is it heavy!

Hey Pitu,
It was late at night and I didn't have the best lighting but I went ahead and made a review.

When you see these two together one def dwarfs the other. If you want poseability and more accurate hot toys is the way to go. Although tony stark looks asian and really dark.

If you want a statue with an epic pose...then SS. But you be the judge when seeing them side by side.
