Geil, that's great man! Your skills make me cry over how useless I am. Quick question, what kind of material are the black and white panels made of? Did you buy them or make them yourself?
 
All just different coloured acrylic panels I order from whole seller I usually go to.

no talent here, trust me :p Now sculpting a head or customizing entire figures that is talent....
As for displays, knowing what the end result needs to be sure helps and a lot of ideas are just copied, your vision just needs to pick and stitch all these ideas together tastefully :p everything is just straight lines and perpendicular cuts .... just research material and time.
Oh and the right tools make a huge difference between a patch job or near professional finish
