Re: Need die hard 4 parts help

Still a lot of skin showing there. Guess it just depends on how picky you are and what kind of funds you have to deal with. :peace

The Triad evo body is a great alternative.

Re: Need die hard 4 parts help

I don't think there is such a thing as a good deal on those bodies. If they are anything like the Wolverine and Comedian bodies (and I am sure they will be it is basically the same body) expect to pay at least a hundred by the time it is shipped to you. I got a good deal on my Comedian body for my DH 1 figure and it was still $98 US by the time shipping was factored in. I can't for the life of me (and believe me I have been puzzling on this for days) figure out why you are going to spend 100 bones on oone of those bodies and cover it with a shirt when there are a couple of other bodies with nice necksculpts out there (and that is all you need for this figure) that won't even cost you half of what a Dastan/Wolverine/Comedian body will cost. Take the savings and spend it on a paintjob by one of the masters.

who might these paintjob masters be?

Re: Need die hard 4 parts help

Small Studios, Boot25, and Greggo to name a few. :)

Re: Need help with die hard 4 custom

hi everyone
im starting my custom die hard 4/live free of die hard figure today.
so i am in search for a few items:

wolverine white vest/beater.
brown leather like shoulder holster (left handed preferably)
police badge (subway die hard part preferably)
t-800 arnold body (whiplash body without tattoos would be perfect)
bald bruce willis head

if anybody has any other suggestions for the custom i would really appreciate that and any advice also.
any information on where else to get these parts would be great too.

thank you for your time

[UPDATE OCTOBER 29TH 2010]
its been some time since i updated this with my progress.
i thought i would post a picture of what i have now and ask your advice on how to modify a few things.
(im also going to be moving this over to the customs thread, if a moderator could help me do that, that would be great)
so here is what i have so far:

i am currently using a standard true type body that i think is the narrow shoulder one, with Bruce Willis being a little more bulky and fatter in die hard 4 i decided to add the bulk to the body temporarily using cotton balls and cardboard taped down with duct tape.
i also modified the shirt so that it was more open like in the movie to show more chest.
the shoulder holster is temporary until i get a more accurate one from the dirty johnny figure which is released in mid November.
im still waiting on sunohc for the head sculpt and I am still in search of a painter who can pull off a realistic look other wise i will be doing that myself.
I have on the way the black boots that are more accurate, a white vest/beater (what ever you want to call it)
and as i mentioned before the dirty johnny in November that i will most likely use to make a die hard 1 custom as well.

the help i need with this and the advice i am looking for is on the following:

IMG_2533.jpg

1) bulking out the body: is there a better way of doing this? (im not much a sculpter and whould not even know what to use)
2) better body: im also still curious about what body to use, i think that the dastan body would be too skinny for this and need some advice or direction on what other body to use? (preferably one i don't have to bulk out.
3) wethering the clothes, how would i go about doing this part to make it look more realistic, also adding bruises and cuts to the body and head needs to be done so any tips on that would be great also.
4) elbow bandage, if you look at the movie he has a bandage on his right elbow with blood on it. any ideas on how to achieve this in 1/6 scale?
5) covering the wrist joints: so im not a big fan of seeing the joints, and so i wanted to know how to cover the wrists? i was thinking a wrist watch would work, what are your thoughts on this?

i look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Lookin' good so far! :clap

Comparing it to the pic of Willis, I don't think the body needs to be any bulkier.

Did you order the without neck version from sunohc?

BTW, I heard that the triad EVO body has loose joints. You might just want to tick to that true type.

by bulking the body i meant to be fatter where as the true type is ripped.
as i mentioned it is currently made fatter using cardboard, tape and cotton balls. i would like to know of any better ways of doing this though?

and yes i ordered the without neck version from sunohc. i will be eventually using a sculpted neck body for this though.

im thinking about sculpting some stuff for this.
does anybody have any advice or know any good guides to follow, i have never done it before.
thanks in advance

This is looking great. I'm in the process of Die Hard 1 Mcclane, but I may do part 4 eventually. I can't wait to see yours finished.

thank you for your interest in my project.
please link me to your die hard 1 mcclane thread if you make one, i would love to see that as i am also working on one of those i just need to wait until mid November to start it.

does anybody know how i would make a hole in the shirt and then seal the edges so that it does not fray and rip apart easy?
would some sort of fabric glue work for that?
another thing is how would i make the shirt a darker color as i realized today watching the movie that the shirt in the movie is of a darker shade of green.
any tips from anyone would be appreciated.
thanks

I am now selling this figure
see my link below,
it is still work in progress, I hope someone here on the boards can finish what i started and make it into something great.
