Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Hey, I'm trying to talk myself out of wanting this! :tap :lol

I don't see why someone, such as yourself, would resist, or care to resist this collectible. Space? We all have problems with finding room. What people fail to realize is that, we can all make room. You love Batman Returns, this has all the Batman Returns features. You got that cool Triange Circus Gang skull Thug, probably one of the few individuals to have it and you're really going to pass up the chance of actually putting them to proper and using with those discs?

Then pictures man, think of the pictures. Batman with Batmobile, Batmobile disabling the skull thug on his bike. Hot Toys Batman '89 and/or Batman Returns Batman chilling with the Batmobile.

You got plenty of time to think it over! :lol

:exactly::exactly:
I'm going put all my stuff in my HT ('home theater' you figure freaks!), the trick is figuring out how much you can put behind the seats so they don't come into view and cause reflection when your watching movies :)

Do we get taxes in Texas? I just moved to Houston so I'm not familiar with it.

I've actually only been in Houston myself for about a year and a half, but welcome to the (soon to be) furnace that is Houston. I like it here except for the summers. Too hot, too many bugs.

If you order from out of state, then you don't pay sale tax. I shop for just about everything online for that very reason. It's an instant 10% discount.

It's funny seeing everybody panicking on where they want to display this, but think, maybe the batmissile, batman forever, batman and robin, and maybe the batwing, bat-boat, or maybe the old adam west vehicles will get thrown in there. Times are great for the Batfan

PD maybe the tumbler in desert camo in the near future.

I can't believe we have to wait until may 2013!!!!! That sucks

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Personally I don't really like the idea of a collection room. I feel like I would rarely go in just to look at my collection. I'd rather incorporate my collection with my entertainment center. My stuff is all boxed up and I'm in the process of looking for a new place and I'm trying to decide how to display everything. But I have a hard time paying for the square footage of an entire room just for collectibles when that also means I wouldn't get to see them as often. This Batmobile will be very tricky to incorporate in a display without either a dedicated collection room, or have it displayed in a useable piece of furniture (as others have already stated). I'm on the fence on this piece. :dunno

Well, if you don't like that idea it's totally fine.

I am just throwing suggestions out there for those who are having problems figuring things out in regards to space.

It's just one of the options.

It hasn't been shortened lengthwise, but if anything, it is too tall on the side "wings". Like you said, probably to help accommodate the inflexible Batman figure.

Are you getting one?

HT has definitely bulk the car up because it seems like the car has lack of that curve and flow on side views.

I have pointed that out since I saw it at SDCC 2011, but people seems to hate it when I point out the flaws.

I guess maybe it's all for the reason to enable Batman to sit inside it.

That Batmobile shown may not be movie accurate. They shortened the width of the back for the "display/show" cars because they were too wide for trailers. So I dont know how accurate this comparison is.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I intend to go "geek chic," so to speak. I want a set-up that embodies what my interests/hobbies are, while also looking classy. My ultimate goal is a home theater room where my batmobile would be displayed as a coffee table, and each license would have it's own spot in it's own backlit display case in front of/below the movie poster (I.e. Nicholson & Keaton below the 89 Batman poster. After lots of thinking, the Tumbler cannot be separated from the rest of the collection, therefor, It will be placed below my Television/Screen, any flying vehicles (Batwing, The Bat) will either be sitting on top of some Corner shelves/Speakers or, if I'm ballsy enough, suspended from the ceiling. However, this is still just "in my mind."

No idea where I'll put it, along a wall somewhere. The armchair will probably be moved onto the landing - terrible place for an armchair but the place is a kip anyway.

I've decided to rent a storage locker so I can get a 1/6 car. :)

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Whoa! What is the story of that Falcon? It looks like it is mass-produced as the paint and weathering isn't that detailed and realistic, but this thing is much bigger than any mass-produced collectible I've ever seen (though HT is getting close to this), so is it a custom job or what?
