SSC TPM Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi Padawan

Young Kenobi showed up today - just got a chance to open him up and have a quick look...

Urrgghh.

I don't want to get too negative here so....I'm gonna curb my "first impressions" and walk away from him a bit....

He's gonna need a lot of futzing. No problem there, but...this is the worst pro body I've ever received. Totally floppy, barely stands upright, even on the stand. I'll futz with him later and see if it's any better, but.....

Same mis-painted ponytail as others have posted....must be the entire run.
Plastic belt with molded-on accessories is a jolt. Unfortunate choice here.

The good, yes the head portraits and the paint jobs (ponytails not withstanding) are really good. The outfit materials (belt not withstanding) are fine and will probably futz into a good look for display.

Haven't tried the light-up saber yet....

Well...so much for being brief with my first impressions here, eh? lol...

I wanted to be blown away by this one....not there yet, but I'll see after I spend some more time....

Just checked and both the regular and exclusive ponytails on mine have a lighter shade of brown. Oh well, not gonna cry about it.

Still have floppy body's and loose joints i see. Maybe it's hit or miss, but still unacceptable.

Maybe someone with a good PRO who is doing a body swap wil sell you theirs for cheap? That sucks though. Maybe SSC will even send you a new body? Mine's not floppy or loose at all. Quite the opposite. Has anyone else noticed a floppy body with theirs?

Same here but I swapped mine onto an ACI Christian body. Eff the Pro.

mine is solid as a damn rock. allmost too solid.hips, elbows and shoulders require A LOT of pressure to move on mine.

Mine's solid as well. My custom (Suhnoc) has been retired for now and using that outfit I've now got two Obi to go along with my two Qui Gon (one with poncho fighting Medi-Maul).

Thanks, despite some shortcomings (different colour braid, belt) I'm really enjoying him. I don't mind the size of the saber at all and I'm absolutely loving the light up feature. I hope we get several more jedi (and hopefully an ESB Vader) with the same feature.

I like having one calm Obi posed in cloak with a contemplative Qui Gon while (Exc.) pissed off Obi is ready to cut Darth Maul down to size.

It's a SSC arrival day (this one and a HT BW)!!! It's been far too long.

Love this hobby.

I gave Obi a proper Jedi belt I got off ebay (thanks again for the link Lerath!) and gave him ep2 Obi's ignited saber. Perfectly happy with him now.

Mine arrived today , I haven't removed him for the box but the first thing I noticed was the great likeness of Ewan and the awsome paint job.

Finally arrived home from my Vacation and opened this baby right up. First off. Amazing figure. It has a great likeness to Ewan and the paint job on the head sculpts and the hands. It's amazing. The clothing is awesome fabric. Great job Sideshow! I also love the light up Saber i see no complaints in the size of it at all looks fine to me. All 3 great paint app. Only two complaints I have is the ponytail like the rest of you is off colored and the belt. You guys were right not that great but that's it. I give this figure a 9. The two minor issues don't bug me at all. Love it and one of Sideshow's best Humans! here's a pic of mine. More Pics to come tomorrow.

Pulled the trigger on this figure. I had the other 4 Obi-Wan Kenobis'. Might as well complete the collection of them.

Okay....have had a chance to futz with the figure a bit and....I'm liking it a lot. As I'd hoped, some water went a long way with the outfit...it's really well done. Got those cardboard coffin wrinkles and creases right out of there and he really "came alive"....

The sculpts and paint apps are really well done....and I'm really enjoying the many different hands...from grasping to force-push, all the right options are there....very well-rendered. Also really like the two part boots...helps the look and the posing quite a bit.

The robe is...different...once one plays around with it and really works the folds, it can drape really well, which considering how jersey-like the material feels is a pleasant surprise.

But the biggest surprise for me with this is the light-up saber...yeah, some may say it's just a gimmick and when this figure settles down into the collection on display, it'll more than likely be back in the box, but while the figure is front and center on the desk here, well...can't take my eyes off it...it looks really cool. The blade doesn't look too thick to me when lit...maybe part of the "problem" folks are having with it is that it's such a departure from the other Sideshow Jedi that it'll just take some getting used to. But I'm enjoying it....


Now my only little gripes are...that doggone floppy, loose body....it'll do okay on the stand, but no extreme poses are going to stay...oh well. And....that belt. I may try and pick up one of the older ones....the rest of the figure presents so well, it'd be ashamed to have that cheap plastic blight on it....

Looking forward to the weekend and getting some fun shots of this guy...it's great to have all of the versions of this great Jedi at last in quality sixth-scale....

Thanks man! More pics tomorrow. He really came out great. Been playing around with him to find a cool pose to put Obi in for now. Need droids or Maul so I can use the Exclusive head.
