Great photos, these are just two of the best figures ever, at least in my most humble of oppinions!

Great figures indeed, but the "facehugger burned into visor of helmet" could have been done better - more screen accurate, and the suits should have been made from fabric. I know, probably to elaborate and costly to realize, but it would have been nicer.

Just put KANE together, just screwing around with pics.

Lights on backpack -- the green is always dim compared to the others.

Unlike Dallas for me, the green light in the helmet actually is visible on the face.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Too bad the whole tail section of the facehugger wrapped around Kane's neck is hidden -- it's the coolest part of the sculpt.

The facehugger sculpt does indeed sit a bit higher then the Freddie sculpt and Dallas -- looks great without any helmet surgery.

I would like to touch up the glass on the visor a bit -- maybe some kind of silicone sprayed to make it look wet inside and fogged -- but I don't want to completely obscure the sculpt inside like they did in the movie.

I'd almost like to make a "hospital Kane" to show off the facehugger sculpt better. You know, just get a body and that goofy white underwear thing he wore and lay him down somewhere.

Great pics WG! Love how the interior helmet lights splash on Kane...

These Figs must look amazing at night...

For me, still waiting on Lucky Star Ripley...

Thanks guys! There's been so many great pics it's hard to post anything new.

I'm trying to find a shelf pose that suits the fact that Kane has a facehugger on... so I came up with this:

KANE and DALLAS, the unseen scene...

Sorry about the overkill with the same pose 5 times. Not sure which pic shows up the best until I post as some are a little blurry.

What do you guys think? Seems like about the only pose I could come up with that feels like Kane just got hit and Dallas is just seconds too late.

I like it. My only concern would be about having the suit in a semi-permanent position that stretches out the knees.

I tried to find something that would work while still allowing me to use the stand, so I went with a "reaching up to the helmet" kind of pose. I would like to be able to have him look more like he's stumbling backwards, but the new style stands aren't very good for that kind of thing.

I think having him lying down is probably the most nature in some sense, but it's not the most attractive from a display standpoint.

That makes sense, forgot about the whole "rubber" question. But still, at least we have those knee pads to cover up whatever cracks may appear on the knees. If the elbows crack, there's no covering it up.

The rubber seems very poseable without much strain on the material. But you've got me paranoid now. :) Maybe I'll try to lay the legs out straight, maybe on leg bent, as if he's laying down, passing out. Maybe that's less a strain on the suit. I'll give it a go.

I just figured my pose above looked most like how I think Kane probably was posed when it happened in the movie and he fell back...just added Dallas there.

EDIT: Icruise, thank you, you are very correct. I just checked the figure and I can clearly see the strain on the rubber. I think any length of time in that extreme pose would result in cracking and tearing. May take a month, may take a year, but it would crack -- I can already see the stress lines.

OK, so it's back to upright posing for me too. Sucks! You really can't get too much action poses out of these guys.

***If we get Lambert, maybe I can pose Kane falling back into her arms... or Lambert and Dallas carrying Kane as if back to the ship. That might work very well.

On that note, if we get Lambert, what the heck will she come with? We don't really need another closed or open egg, and she has no unique gear to speak of... so what's gonna be her appeal?

I think she should come with a working crane -- extendable at least -- or if molded, an open crane. At least that would be a good gimmick extra.

Have you guys trained the lights of Dallas and/or Kane on the aliens?
With lights off the effect is devastating!
It works particularly well on the NECA 21" beast, simply beautiful. I lost my camera, so I can't take any pics, but do try it, it's fantastic.

Well, I decided to try and fix my "only one light shows dimly on the backpack" problem. I only undid the straps enough to let me unscrew the battery cover. I didn't notice anything obviously wrong with the batteries, but taking them out and putting them back in restored the lights to retina-burning intensity. Maybe one battery was in upside down. Getting the backpack back on was a nightmare. I had a heck of a time with the darned straps, even though I had only fully removed two of them. I finally figured out that you can snap out the top part of the clasp that holds the straps in place instead of trying to thread the strap through the clasp. (Maybe that's obvious, but it was late and I was tired.) It was still kind of challenging though. I don't want to do that again anytime soon, but at least I fixed the lights.

Didn't somebody say that the suit was made of SILICONE, and not of RUBBER, and that it was much more durable than rubber too? It won't tear, unless breached... Now don't quote me on that, it's just something I remember from one of the "adjust the neck" threads.

I believe that was for the Predator cinemaquette. The space suit is definetely rubber.

It was I who said the suits are silicone, and they are. Trust me, I've been making molds with silicone for 16 years- it's silicone. It won't wear out!
As a test, you can hold a lighter up to the suit for a few seconds, and it WON'T MELT. Silicone is fire-proof.
I just did the test myself. Rubber would melt. (i would never have even tried this if I didn't already know it was silicone)

As long as you don't scuff it or cut or tear it, it will outlive us all, and become a part of the Earth's crust...

That's very good news if they use the same material for the next alien figures.

Maybe the "strain" Wor-Gar and Icruise see is actually on just the paint and not the material itself? I don't have the figure (yet, hopefully), but I'm taking Anthrapoid's viewpoint into consideration...

Perhaps the "strain" that I saw was indeed the paint separating at the knee -- in that line between calve and 'stitched' knee pad on the suit. It freaked me out after Icruise's comment.

But Anthrapoid, if you think I can maintain this pose for a long time without the silicone tearing, then I'd love to leave Kane this way on the shelf.

Ahhhhh.... Now we have a different problem. I haven't talked about this yet, but because you desire to pose with the knees bent for an extended period, it should be pointed out.
If you look closely at the pants of the spacesuit, you'll see that they are actually made from no less than seven seperate pieces:

1. a band around the abdomen, colored
2. a belt with lacing around the waist, white
3. 'short' pants, colored
4. a band of lacing on left thigh, white
5. a band of lacing on right thigh, white
6. lower left leg, colored
7. lower right leg, colored

They are all glued together with flexible silicone glue, which you can see as thin dark grey lines seperating the seven pieces of the pants.

I'm sure HT did this so the white laces would stay white forever, and the colored portions of the suit would stay colored- the less paint to rub off, the better.

Unfortunately, it also means that the glue might come apart if there is too much strain put on the seams. The good news is, you can buy flexible glue and fix the seams if they ever do come apart.
